Shri Dev Vetoba is the primary deity of Parule village. Almost every village or big county in the Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra has Panchyatan temples(Five head deities that rule and protect the fate of the villagers.) This Vetoba temple too is much worshipped by most of the families residing in the Parule village borders. Interestingly, every village has defined roles and responsibilities for management of temples, and it ties down to few families inthe village per per traditions running in Hindu religion.
Samant Families(Popularly known as Khalche Wadkar) are responsible for Shri Dev Vetoba temple. In rudimentary terms these Samant families are considered to be trustees of the temple. Raool families are responsible for day to day care taking of these temples. Vetoba Temple is an ancient temple and with time written history has faded away with centuries passed along the way, information on this website is a sincere effort to take into account various details approached from Kudal Deshkar Samants ruling era on Kudal region and surrounding villages. This website also also inherits few points from court ruling that resulted from local court notices between 1922-1934 with respect to Samant families and their trustee position with the temple.
